Tile calculator
To calculate how many tiles to a square metre
Step 1:
Multiply the width and height of one tile. So in this case the area of one tile is:
250mm x 500mm = 0.125 m2 or 25cm x 50cm = 0.125 m2
Step 2:
Divide 1m by the area of one tile to give you the number of 250mm x 500mm tiles in a m2:
1m / 0.125 = 8 Tiles per m2
To calculate how many tiles to a tiled area
Measure the area to be tiles in metres
Multiply the 2 measurements and this will give you the square metres required
Its always recommended to allow an extra 10% for cuts, breakages and for spares
